PrivateEXE (v2.2)
|
|
PrivateEXE for Win'95/NT is an innovative software which allows you to
password protect Windows executables:
PrivateEXE modifies existing .EXE files,
so that the program first asks the user for a password and would not
start unless the correct password is entered. This way you can effectively lock
your most sensitive programs and utilities (like tax preparation or financial
planning software) from unauthorized access.
It protects program itself, not
its icon, as the protection is incorporated into executable file itself. The
program will remain locked even if you run it from the command line.
PrivateEXE is safe and efficient. Unlike
other protection software, it does not run in the background to provide its
functionality. With the other software, which claims to be "password
protecting", an intruder can simply kill the protection program or remove it
from startup group to disable entire mechanism. This is not the case with
PrivateEXE because it adds password protection scheme into binary executable
files.
PrivateEXE neither changes the registry, nor creates hidden files. It works
with both Win'95 and NT regardless of installed file system (NTFS, FAT, etc.) or
network configuration.
